Creator God, God of song and dance,
you are indeed worthy of our praise.
You have seen right to place us your children
into the glorious creation of your design.
In your perfect wisdom you have filled the waters with swimming things,
the air with flying things and
the earth with walking, running and dancing things
all of which sing of your Glory.
We join our voices with the cacophony of your creation,
sounds of the dolphins, the cries of the hawks, the chatter of squirrels in a chorus of unending praise.
We join in the the laughter of Sarah, the dance of David, and the song of Mary
We join with the confused, flawed and glorious disciples
who ate with your son Jesus Christ in that upper room where
on the night in which he was betrayed he took bread, gave thanks , broke it and gave it to his disciples saying “take and eat, this is my body given for you, do this for the remembrance of me. Again after supper he took the cup, gave thanks, and gave it to his disciples saying “this is the cup of the new covenant in my blood shed for you and for all people for the forgiveness of sin,
do this for the remembrance of me.”
And so we remember the glory of Christ’s resurrection which brings us all to dance and sing in New Life.
Joining with John, who leapt in Elizabeth’s womb,
Mary Magdalene, who turned at the sound of her name and
the befuddled disciples on the road to Emmaus, along with
the swimming, flying, walking, crawling and swarming subjects of your beautiful creation,
we sing with the angels, archangels and the hosts of heaven
the eternal dance and song of your Glory.
